Royal International Horse Show
The Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) runs over approximately 6 days and has a variety of different Showing and Show Jumping competitions available allowing spectators to view the very top horses and riders performing at the top level.
- Showing Classes Include Ridden Hunter, Coloured Horse, Show Hunter Ponies, Working Hunter Ponies, Pure Bred Ridden Arab and Hackney Driving classes amongst many others.
- Show Jumping Classes include the Queen Elizabeth 2nd Cup, the King George 5th Gold Cup, Nations Cup, Speed Classes and also the Eventing Grand Prix amongst many others.
Qualification
Special qualification is required to enter each of the various Showing and Show Jumping classes along with membership to Hickstead and the British Show Jumping Association also necessary for some classes.
Height of the Fences
This varies for each class the Queen Elizabeth 2nd Cup for example is approximately 1.60 meters high and the horses will need to travel at approximately 400 meters a minute in order to avoid picking up time penalties with all clear rounds going into a jump off, against the clock to determine the winner.
