One of Britains leading event riders is in hospital following a fall at a competition at Lion d'Angers, France where he was competing in the World Championships for Young Horses.

Fox-Pitt who was riding the promising Reinstated fell during the cross country course at the popular fixture and was taken to Angers hospital with a head trauma and placed under sedation.

Reinstated is 7 years old gelding out of Loughehoe Guy and has been successfully campaigned by William with recent wins including first at Wellington International in the intermediate, first at Purston Manor in the Novice Regional Final as well as last year winning the British Eventing Young Horse Championships for 6 year olds at Osberton.
