Guerdat Takes Olympic Gold
Steve Guerdat (SUI) has won Olympic Individual Gold, during a tough final round of show jumping at Greenwich, riding the impressive 11 year old gelding Nino des Buissonnets.

Guerdat jumped clear in both the deciding first and second rounds to come out clear winner with a tense jump off between joint second riders Gerco Schroder (NED) and Cian O'Connor (IRL). Schroder was the eventual winner of the silver medal after his 10 year old stallion London performed an excellent clear round putting him just ahead of Ireland's Cian O'Conner who despite riding a faster time over the tough jump off track on Blue Loyd 12 unfortunately had one down to claim the bronze.

In fourth place was Kamal Bahamdan for Saudi Arabia riding the powerful mare Noblesse Des Tess who jumped clear but gained a time fault in each round.

British riders Scott Brash and Nick Skelton both went clear in the first round and then unfortunately each had one fence down dropping them out of contention for a medal. Nick Skelton's horse Big Star, had not had any fences down during the whole competition until this the final round causing huge disappointment to Skelton and the home crowd.
