Kristina Cook Wins Individual And Team Gold At The Europeans In Fontainebleau
Congratulations go to Tina Cook who won not only individual Gold But Team Gold as well at the HSBC FEI European Eventing Championships in Fontainebleau.

The top 6 scores after the dressage were very close with Oliver Townend and Tina Cook in joint first on 37.9, being closely followed by Nicolas Touzaint on 38.1, Tim Lips on 38.5, Karin Donckers on 38.7 and Frank Ostholt on 39.2.

The cross country course was challenging with penalties being picked up on a variety of different fences most notably fences 7, 11 and 16. The optimum cross country time also proved a challenge to get with many riders pickng up penalties.

After the cross country the leader board changed considerably except for Tina Cook who stayed in first place after going clear cross country with only 0.8 to add for time faults. In second place was Michael Jung who moved from 15th up into second riding his Luhmühlen winner La Biosthetique-Sam FBW. Moving up 6 places and into third after cross country was William Fox-Pitt riding Idalgo.

Overnight joint dressage leader Oliver Townend picked up 40 cross country penalties and time faults to drop down into 32nd after the cross country.

The show jumping also proved to be influential with many riders having fences down. Piggy French was one of only two riders to go clear and was rewarded by moving up the leader board and into second place. Michael Jung had one fence down and dropped one place into third. William Fox-Pitt also had a fence down which dropped them into 4th position.
