Trakehner Horse
This lovely looking horse has good conformation, action, stamina and speed making it an excellent competition horse.

16 to 17 hh

Colour
Bay, brown, black and grey.

Conformation

  • The neck has a gentle curve to it and the withers are well defined.
  • The shoulders gently slope giving the limbs good extension.
  • The chest is wide and the girth is deep allowing for plenty of heart and lung room.
  • The back is short and strong.
  • The hindquarters are curved and powerful with long well muscled limbs and good hooves.
  • The tail is full and well set on.
 

History
Trakehners can be traced back to the Tarpan horse and its descendants of Konik and then Schweiken ponies. With the influence of Arab and Thoroughbred blood added the end result is a horse who is agile and tough with stamina and speed.
